OUTLook on Mason:  The LGBTQ PhotoVoice Project, April 3 - 13, 2012.
Community Forum and Opening Reception in Mason Hall D003 A & B.
Thursday, April 5, 2012, 4 - 6 p.m.

The OUTLook on Mason PhotoVoice project brought together nine undergraduate students to share their experiences as members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community at Mason.  Through witnessing their visual images and reflecting on their written narratives, you are invited to join a critical dialogue about the strengths and concerns of the LGBTQ community and the campus climate at Mason.

During the Community Forum, these students will share their work, their experiences, and their recommendations for improving Mason's campus climate.  All students, faculty, staff, and administration at Mason are encouraged to attend.

PhotoVoice is a participatory research method that gives creative voice to members of a community who often feel silenced.

The “ReMuseum” by The Floating Lab Collective (FLC) is a participatory, mobile experiment that investigates museum processes such as collecting, valuing and displaying objects.  Through discussions with DC communities, such as Deanwood, Brentwood, Petworth and Anacostia, the Floating Lab Collective selected and replicated personal objects of value. These objects, along with unique stories delivered by their owners, will be displayed in a retrofitted taco truck.
These items will be displayed:

Corcoran Gallery of Art March 17th from 10:00am – 5:00pm

The Pepco Edison Place Gallery, Sunday March 25th from 12:00pm – 7:00pm.
